QUICK CHANGEOVERS - SMED (SINGLE MINUTE EXCHANGE OF DIES)
Often referred to as 'pit-stopping' or 'quick changeover' SMED removes waste from the changeover/set up process resulting in increased running time, reduced lead times and improved customer service levels. In effect additional time is created in which to add more value.

DAT take your team through every step of the process reducing and often removing activities from the set up process. We coach your team to identify the various wastes that exist in both the 'internal' and 'external' set ups. The outcomes from this include not just quicker changeovers but reduced lead times, reduced inventories as well as increased capacity levels.
